Shalam Colony & Oahspe  Mystery Museum

"A petite museum of uncommon history & literature."

This secular museum is a permanent exhibit dedicated to the Oahspe book as literature; and to the first colony anywhere in the world patterned after the book's archetypal blueprint for a cooperative peace community:  the original Shalam Colony, established by Dr. John Ballou Newbrough -- right here, just north of Las Cruces.

We exist and are funded ONLY by your donations and purchases.  We sell Oahspe books and other related books & items.  Your purchases through us help support this museum which introduces  the general public to the Oahspe text as  fascinating, visionary literature and significant cultural heritage.  Incorporated as the "Oahspe Association," we are a fully legal 501(c)(3) non-profit museum organization, governed by a board of five local persons, and your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

The museum is located near historic Las Cruces, New Mexico in a popular visitors' area, near the Old Mesilla Plaza; at the stoplight, corner of Hwy. 28 & Boutz, among the shops in the Old Tortilla Factory.  Open to the public.  Hours:  Thursday -- Sunday, noon to 5:00 P.M. or by arrangement.    1-505-524-9830.
